Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented, Staff Accountant to join a finance team of a reputable organization in West Haven, CT. You will handle day-to-day general ledger operations, assist with month-end and year-end close processes, and ensure strict compliance with GAAP guidelines. This is an ideal role for an ambitious accounting professional with 2–4 years of experience looking for stability, clear progression pathways, and ownership over core financial workflows. salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year

Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger entries, perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and maintain sub-ledgers.
- Drive month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and financial statement draft reviews.
- Perform multi-bank account reconciliations, cash flow tracking, and variance analysis.
- Assist with Accounts Payable/Receivable oversight, sales tax filings, and fixed asset schedules.
- Provide necessary documentation and support to internal and external auditors during annual reviews.
- Partner with department leaders to monitor operational budget performance and variance reporting.
